A joint investment company was established by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector and the Azerbaijan Investment Company on November 29, 2007. The company charter has been signed by Mr. Anar Akhundov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company and Mr. Khaled Al-Aboodi, Executive Director of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD).

The Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on construction of the Independent Power Plant in the Alat settlement of the Baku City on November 15, 2007. The MoU has been signed by Mr. Anar Akhundov, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company and by Mr. Jin Sik Kim, Vice President of KEPCO.

Mr. Anar Akhundov, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company and Mr. Riad Gasimov, Deputy Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company met with the representatives of the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) on October 24, 2007. During the meeting, the KEPCO representatives provided the AIC management with information about the possibilities of joint co-investment into the Independent Power Plant project in Azerbaijan.
