By the Memorandum, the two sides have agreed on the following activates: - working together in structuring and raising the Fund in accordance with the key commercial principles;
- provision of the necessary support, both within Azerbaijan and internationally, to attract investments to the different fields of the Azerbaijani economy through the Fund;
- identification of the potentially interesting projects for the new Fund;
- encouragement of the other investors to make investments and financial support to the Fund.

Mr. Anar Akhundov, Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company attended the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Forum in Frankfurt, Germany on December 3-6, 2007. Mr. Akhundov made a presentation on existing investment climate and future prospects in Azerbaijan, and activities of the Azerbaijan Investment Company, its objectives and ongoing projects for the participants of the business forum. Furthermore, Mr. Akhundov has also had discussions with the executive managers of the German investment companies about potential projects in the non-oil sector of the Azerbaijan economy and opportunities for the German investment companies and banks to co-invest together with the Azerbaijan Investment Company.

“Garadagh Cement” JSC

On December 7, 2007, the Azerbaijan Investment Company and “Holcim” Ltd., the major shareholder of the “Garadagh Cement” JSC, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Azerbaijan Investment Company becoming one the shareholders of the “Garadagh Cement” JSC.
