The Accession Agreement was signed between Azerbaijan Investment Company OJSC, SOCAR, and bp company.

The Accession Agreement reflects the intention of both SOCAR and Azerbaijan Investment Company to participate in the "Sunrise" project. This project will make a valuable contribution to the transformation of liberated territories into 'green energy' zones and the development of the renewable energy potential of our country.

This agreement was signed during the visit of bp Chairman of the Board, Helge Lund; Executive Vice President for Production and Operations, Gordon Birrell and former bp Executive Director, Lord John Philip Brown, who participated in an event organized by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Gulustan Palace.

The event was held in celebration of Oil Workers Day, which was declared in Azerbaijan in 2001 by Heydar Aliyev.
