With the support of the Azerbaijan Investment Company, a pharmaceutical plant is being built to enable the local production of medicinal products. Construction is already in its final stage and is expected to be fully completed by December 2025.
The new plant is located in the Pirallahi Industrial Park and is being developed in partnership with Türkiye’s renowned company, “GEN İlaç ve Sağlık Ürünleri A.Ş.” The facility, which will be equipped with modern technologies, is expected to produce over 70 types of medicines, including ampoules and tablets.
The main goal of the project is to reduce reliance on imported medicines and ensure the domestic production of high-quality, affordable medicines. In doing so, it will contribute both to public health and to the country’s economic security.
The first phase of the plant is expected to become operational by July 2025, with all construction and installation works scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
This project is significant not only for the healthcare sector, but also for strengthening local production, diversifying the economy, and creating new jobs. It will enhance Azerbaijan’s independence in the pharmaceutical sector and play a key role in building a more resilient and sustainable healthcare system.
